Stony Plain Alliance Fire

On December 18 the Family Centre Building of Stony Plain Alliance burnt down.

The 10,000-plus sq.-ft. building housed the youth and children’s ministries and administrative offices.

The fire broke out at around 2:30 p.m. Sunday just as a group was wrapping up a meeting. Everyone was safely evacuated from the building.

Firefighters declared the blaze under control by the supper hour but were still fighting the fire well into the evening.

While this is a huge loss for Stony Plain as a church and community, there is still much they are thankful for. No one was hurt and the surrounding homes were spared.

Stony Plain Alliance will still be holding a Christmas Eve service from their Auditorium building as planned at 1:00pm, 3:00pm, and 5:00pm on Saturday, December 24.

Please keep the church and community in your prayers!

  • Pray and/or have prayer walks on their behalf
  • Send an encouraging note or email
  • Some gifts to consider: flowers or Staples gift cards
  • At this time financial contributions are not required, but if you do feel called to give you can do so through their website.
